Brock Steven King

1959 ∼ 2023

Brock Steven King, 64, of Sour Lake, Texas went to be with his Heavenly Father on Wednesday, November 22, 2023, at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont, Texas. Mr. King was born May 28, 1959, to Robert Steven King and the late Lois Lloyd in Pasadena, Texas. He spent most of his life living on “Pelts Prairie” in Sour Lake, where generations of his family have lived before and with him.

Brock was an experienced journeyman electrician by trade, and a master “fix-it-all” in renovations, building, and welding. As an avid hunter and fisherman, he was happiest when spending time outdoors with wildlife and nature. Those who know him well will miss his karaoke singing and love for playing guitar. Brock had a passion for cooking and barbecue, gaining the nickname “King Cook of the Prairie” by friends and family. Brock’s kindness and generosity towards everyone he knew will have a lasting impact, and he will be missed by numerous friends and loved ones.

Brock is preceded in death by his mother, and uncle, Ervin Lloyd.

Those left to cherish his memories are his father, Robert Steven King and wife Wanda of Conroe, Texas; daughters; Brooke West and husband Zack of Bastrop, Texas and Carly Rae King of Woodville, Texas; Brothers; Robert King of Sour Lake, Texas, Keith Dumphy and wife Ronnie of Kentucky and Don Dumphy of Sour Lake, Texas; Grandson; Walker West of Bastrop, Texas; longtime companion, June King and her children and grandchildren; friend and mother of his children, Christa Gillette, and many friends and family who loved him.

Cremation is under the direction of Faith and Family Funeral Services in Batson, Texas. Celebration of Life will follow at a later date.
