Betty Jo Roth

Betty Jo Roth, affectionately known as "Granny" and "Super Granny," passed away peacefully on March 17, 2026, in Hull, Texas. Born on June 9, 1938, in Honey Island, Texas.

A faithful and godly woman, Betty Jo was cherished for her steadfast commitment to her beliefs and the comfort she found in her home and loved ones. She was truly a homebody who found joy in nurturing her family and creating memorable moments during family gatherings and vacations. Her culinary talents were legendary among those who knew her—especially her specialties of chicken and dumplings, dressing, and sweet potato pie, which were eagerly anticipated at every celebration.

Betty Jo is survived by her children: Wiley Roth and his wife Yolanda, Debra Terry and her husband Jimmy, Betty Lynn Izaguirre and her husband Beto, and Christy Robertson; her grandchildren Juan, BJ, Sandro, Candie, Victoria, BJ, Garth, Jarrett, and Jacoby; eighteen great-grandchildren; along with her good neighbor, Greg Votaw, who was a meaningful part of her daily life.

She was preceded in death by her husband, WJ Roth; her parents, Lloyd Allen Parker, and Bertie Busselle; and her siblings Albert Parker, Elbert Parker, RA Parker, TL Parker, Nelda Rae Roth, Melba Fregia, and Geraldine Hooks. She also mourns the loss of her grandchild, Patrick Roth.

An intimate Graveside Service will take place on Friday, March 20, 2026, at William Hart Cemetery, Kountze, Texas.

it’s hard to say just a few words about a friendship of over 70 years. Betty Jo was a precious person, always smiling and as we were so happy when we could get together and catch up. When my time comes to join her an all our “old Friends” it will be a Heavenly Time. !!!!
