Berchie Richard "Skeet" Taylor

Berchie Richard "Skeet" Taylor, a cherished husband, father, and friend, passed away on September 27, 2025, at the age of 60. Born on April 22, 1965, in Liberty, Texas, Skeet lived a life full of love and laughter, leaving behind a legacy by his deep devotion to his family and his passion for sports and the cowboy lifestyle.

Skeet was a proud veteran who honorably served in the Army, displaying the same courage and commitment that would later shape his character as he transitioned into civilian life. His career with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice was marked by steadfast dedication and an unwavering work ethic.

Outside of his professional obligations, Skeet embraced his roles as a family man and community member with open arms. He found immense joy in coaching Little League teams, where he instilled values of teamwork and perseverance in young athletes. His love for sports extended beyond coaching; he was a passionate fan who always celebrated the victories, both big and small.

Skeet was married to his loving wife of 38 years, Tracy Taylor, who stood by him through all of life's adventures. Together, they raised three remarkable sons—Myles Taylor and his wife Autumn, Seth Taylor and fiancé Annie Buchanan, and Chance Taylor and girlfriend Shay Paschal. Skeet took immense pride in his family, relishing every moment spent with them and supporting their dreams.

A loving brother, Skeet is survived by his brothers, Marvin Taylor and his wife Debbie, and Albert Taylor and his wife Mel. He also leaves behind his uncle, Dr. Charles Smith, who were a source of love and support throughout his life. Skeet's incredible legacy continues through his grandchildren—Cooper Taylor, Talon Taylor, Porter Fregia, and Jordan Fort—who brought him immeasurable joy and countless smiles.

Those who knew him will remember his vibrant personality; his enthusiasm for the cowboy lifestyle, his love for riding dirt bikes, and his passion for dancing made him a beloved figure among friends and family. Skeet was known for his playful spirit on social media, sharing moments from his life, Tik Tok cooking videos, and, of course, bragging about his culinary exploits—especially his mastered recipes like cabbage and sausage.

Skeet Taylor's warmth and kindness touched the lives of many. He was predeceased by his father, Albert E. Taylor; mother, Katherine Smith; brothers, Jerry and Terry Taylor; and sister, Elaine Ard, all of whom he missed dearly throughout his life.

As we remember Skeet, we hold in our hearts the cherished memories of his laughter, his love for his family, and his unwavering spirit. His legacy will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him, and he will be deeply missed but forever cherished.
