Mr. Benny was an AWESOME man. I could expect him most everyday for lunch. He was so kind to ask how you were regardless of how he was doing. He will be missed by many and remain in my heart FOREVER. RIP MY SWEET ANGEL. No matter how busy I was , I found the time to go out in the dining room for my hug and kiss.

Benny was a great friend to me. For many years, he did my income taxes for free because he considered me a "widow woman" in need of help. I know he did this for a number of other people in town. He refused any pay, saying he did it to keep his mind sharp. It must've helped because it was as sharp as ever as long as I knew him. I enjoyed visiting with him and Imogene when I would go pick up the taxes. Benny also gave much of his time to First Baptist Church, contributing greatly to getting the new church built. I was also privileged to be a member of the Lions Club with him and enjoyed taking our train different places with him and the guys. Until not too long ago, I got to see him every Friday at Fesco's where we both enjoyed her fried fish. Sour Lake has lost a faithful resident and will be missed by many. Rest in peace, Benny.
