William Lloyd "Trey" Kelley, III

William Lloyd "Trey" Kelley, III, born on February 26, 1965, in Houston, Texas, passed away on August 24, 2024, in Conroe, Texas at the age of 59. Never going by his name William, he was known to all as Trey. Trey was the oldest and first child of Bill Kelley and Berniece Kelley Ischy. He was a dedicated individual whose career revolved around his mechanical expertise, working self-employed in machine repair and at various machine shops in the Houston area. Trey's passion for his profession persisted until health challenges arose.

Trey spent his formative years in Houston and Forest Cove in Kingwood, Texas, culminating in his graduation from Kingwood High School in 1983. He furthered his education at the Universal Technical Institute, where he graduated on November 1, 1985. Trey's exceptional performance led to his recognition as "Student" of Phase 7, an honor awarded to those demonstrating the highest achievements during their coursework.

In addition to his professional life, Trey served honorably in the United States Navy, enlisting on February 1, 1988. His service stationed him in the Mediterranean Sea, allowing him the opportunity to travel and experience diverse parts of the world.

Trey's love for outdoor activities was a significant aspect of his life. He cherished fishing, particularly enjoying moments spent in the surf at San Luis Pass with his son, Trey Michael, where they frequently caught their limits. His fondest memories included trips to the Hill Country with his father, Bill Kelley, and brother, Craig Kelley, where they would relish the stunning outdoor scenery. As an avid sportsman, he also expressed a love for hunting and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle.

His father Bill Kelley preceded him in death on May 25, 2023. 

Trey was devoted to his family, creating lasting memories and nurturing bonds that were vital to him. He is survived by his wife, Courtney, who provided unwavering care during his illness, alongside his mother, Berniece Ischy, and stepfather, David Ischy. He leaves behind his children, Breanna Kelley and son, Trey Michael Kelley his significant other Kayla Johnston, as well as grandchildren Walker Kelley, Bentley Kelley, and Brecklynn Kelley. His surviving family includes his brother Craig Kelley, stepbrother, Jason Ischy, two nieces Sydney and Katie Kelley, great nephews Graham Nash and Copper Dean, and a host of extended family and friends.

Trey Kelley will be memorialized during a service on September 21, 2024, at Faith & Family Funeral Services in Batson, Texas, beginning at 10:00 AM. The service will honor his life and the cherished memories he created with those who loved him. Trey’s legacy of joy, family devotion, and passion for the outdoors will be carried on in the hearts of many.
