Vernon Wesley Dodd

Vernon Wesley Dodd, 68, of Daisetta, died Thursday, October 25, 2018, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born June 8, 1950, in Beaumont, TX to Vernon Dodd and Rose Marie Shaw.

Vernon was an oil field worker for most of his life. He enjoyed watching sports, especially football and track and field and on occasion, he liked to fish and hunt. Most of all, Vernon loved spending time with his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him.

Vernon is preceded in death by his parents; Vernon Dodd and Rose Marie Shaw; son, Deron Dewayne Dodd; and brothers, Bruce Dodd, Jerry Dodd and Johnny Dodd.

Those left to cherish his memory are; his loving wife of 46 years, Melissa Ann 'Sissy' Dodd of Daisetta; sons, Kevin Eugene Dodd of Daisetta, and Alton Eugene Dodd and wife Tonia of Daisetta; grandchildren, Kassidy Dodd, Krispen Dodd, Kace Dodd, and Aizlee Dodd all of Daisetta; nieces, Shelly Burks and husband Kelvin of Daisetta, Carrie 'Butch' Taylor of Daisetta, and Jacob Fregia and Angela of Winnie; great-nieces, Courtney Fregia of Daisetta, and Faith Taylor of Daisetta; great-nephews, Zachary Burks of Daisetta, and Ethan Burks of Daisetta; sisters-in-law, Teddy Fregia and husband Dewayne of Daisetta, Carolyn Carr and husband Charles of Devers, Vickie Moor and husband Charles of Hull; brothers-in-law, Robert Taylor of Daisetta, Gary Taylor and wife Tommie of Daisetta, and a host of many loving family and friends.

A graveside service of remembrance will be held on Saturday, November 3, 2018, beginning at 11:00 a.m. at Guedry Cemetery in Batson.
