Terry Wayne "Toot" Rountree II, a beloved son, father, brother, and friend passed away on Saturday, October 26, 2024, in a moment that leaves behind an ache in the hearts of all who knew him. He was born on July 10, 1984, in Liberty, Texas, and his warmth and kindness touched many lives throughout his journey.

 Terry dedicated over six years of his life to serving the community with the Saratoga and Batson Fire Departments, embodying a spirit of heroism and dedication. He was not just a firefighter but a stalwart figure of bravery and support, demonstrating his commitment to helping others in their times of need. He was always ready to lend a hand, embodying his caring nature with a smile that welcomed everyone. 

Terry's laughter echoed most vividly in the adventures he shared with his nieces and nephews. He embraced his role as an adventurous uncle, taking them on thrilling escapades and helping them create cherished memories. There was rarely a dull moment around Terry, whose love for family was evident in the way he prioritized time with them. He was a loving and nurturing parent to his children, Kolter and Karsyn, and they were undoubtedly proud to call him Dad.

Along with his adventurous spirit, Terry was a passionate enthusiast of hunting, fishing, and coaching softball. He shared many joyful afternoons watching Dallas Cowboys games with his brother and father, bonding over their shared interests and making memories that would last a lifetime. His playful and adventurous personality always drew people in, making it impossible for him to meet a stranger. He had a heart of gold, often rescuing stray dogs and providing them with a loving home. His fur baby, Petey, undoubtedly felt the warmth of Terry's affection and companionship.

In addition to the love that surrounded him, Terry will be mourned deeply by his parents, Terry Wayne Rountree Sr. and Tammy Denise Blaylock; his brothers, Ronnie Rountree (Miranda Martin) and Michael Lindsey; his sister, Tamara Rountree (Cruz Williams); nieces and nephews, Matera Rountree, Lexi Faught, Railee Morrow, Mackenzley Rountree, Kaisen Rountree, Remitynn Rountree, Axel Rountree, Parklynn Rountree, and Kenna Caruthers; girlfriend, Marissa Ramsey; a host of aunts, uncles, and friends. Each member of his family carries with them a piece of Toot's spirit, nurtured through his profound love and camaraderie.

His legacy is also intertwined with the memories of those who have passed, including his grandparents Charles "Pawpaw" Caruthers, Genevieve "Granny" Caruthers, Buddy Rountree, and Evelyn Griffith, as well as Uncle Otis Caruthers and Aunt Janet Moore. These cherished loved ones will hold him close in their hearts, united in their remembrance.

Serving the family as pallbearers are Ronnie Rountree, Derek Brown, Tyler Caruthers, Randy Dorrell, Mark Fregia, Rusty Hendrix, Morgan Price, and Garrett Price. Honorary pallbearers are Matera Rountree, Lexi Faught, Railee Morrow, Mackenzley Rountree, Kaisen Rountree, Remitynn Rountree, Axel Rountree, Parklynn Rountree, and Kenna Caruthers.

A visitation for Terry will take place on Friday, November 1, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the First Baptist Church in Batson, Texas. Following this, a funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at 3:00 PM officiated by Pastor Elisha Moor, Pastor Tolbert Hudspeth, and Pastor Jamie Blume. Interment to follow at Guedry Cemetery.

As we gather to celebrate the life of Terry Wayne "Toot" Rountree II, we will remember the laughter, the adventures, the compassion, and the boundless love he shared. Though he has left this world, his light will forever shine in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to have known him.
