of Daisetta, died on Wednesday November 16, 2016 at Liberty Health Care Center. He was 78.

A service of remembrance will be held on Saturday November 19, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at First Assembly of God Church of Daisetta, with Reverend Lamar Shane officiating. Interment will follow at Hardin Chapel Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are James Holman, Nicholas Radacy, Buddy Thompson, Tyler Martin, Layson McCallon, Timmy Slusher.

The family will be receiving friends on Friday November 18, 2016 from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. also at First Assembly of God Church in Daisetta.

S.V. was born June 5, 1938 in Pitkin, Louisiana, to Hadley Thompson and Nellie Perkins. He had been part of the Hull-Daisetta community since 1974 and was retired from the oilfield and attended the First Assembly of God Church of Daisetta.

He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother, D.C. Thompson and sisters, Annie Mae Willis and Doris Mae Blanchard.

He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara 'Bobbie' Thompson of Daisetta, son, S.V. Thompson Jr. better known as 'Buddy' of Daisetta, daughters, Cindy Gail Martin of Pitkin, LA, Norma Jean Carroll of Pitkin, LA, and Claudette Marie Thompson of Hardin.

Grandchildren are Jennifer Martin, Haley Martin, Brett Martin, Chastity Carroll, Amber Martin, Tyler Martin, Nicolette Carroll, Katlin Martin, Landin Martin and Anna Turney.

Great grandchildren are Kennon Ordner, Hadlee McCallon, Hunter McCallon, Braeyson McCallon, Raeanne Martin, McKenna Nowlin, Kyleigh Nowlin, Brilynn Carroll, Jevfinn Nolan, Vallynn Radacy and Evangelynn Radacy.
