Ruby Lorraine Cryer
of Saratoga, Texas died on Wednesday June 14, 2017 at Kountze Nursing Center. She was 87.
Ruby was born November 12, 1929 in Saratoga, to Thomas Franklin Cryer and Rosa Lee Guynes.
She joined the Red Cross where she made lifelong friends. After that she began teaching and many years later retired and moved back to Saratoga.
She is preceded in death by her parents, also brothers, Thomas F. Cryer Jr, Casey H. Cryer, Charles D. Cryer and Harry Cryer, and nephew, Ricky L. Cryer and niece Kathy Cryer.
She is survived by her brother, Reverend Jimmie W. Cryer of Saratoga; nieces Barbara K. Graham of Saratoga, Virginia Ivey of Hawkins TX, and Carol Melancon of Georgia. Nephews, Thomas Cryer of Kountze, Casey Cryer of Crowley, LA and Russell Cryer of Lafeyette LA. Special friends Pat Lollar, Jane Gierhart of New Mexico; and Jo Ingram of California.
A service of remembrance will be held on Saturday June 17, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. at Faith & Family Funeral Services with Reverend Frank Aragon officiating. There will be a gathering of family and friends also on Saturday from 12:00 P.M. until time of service at Faith & Family. Interment will follow at a later date at Old Hardin cemetery in Kountze.
