Pastor Ray James Nugent

Pastor Ray James Nugent, 72, of Rye went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, January 8, 2019, at his residence with his family by his side.



A homegoing service will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2019, at 3:00 P.M. at Solid Rock Full Gospel Church in Votaw, with Pastor Nathan Hendrix, officiating. Interment will follow at Solid Rock Full Gospel Cemetery next to the church. There will be a gathering of family and friends on Friday, January 11, 2019, beginning at 5:00 P.M. at the church.

Serving as pallbearers are Daniel Nugent, Keith Gilbert, James Nugent, John Peden, Joey Conner, Cameron Johnston.



A native of Liberty, Pastor Ray had lived in Rye and was pastor of Solid Rock Full Gospel Church for 19 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray Nugent and Daisy Fregia. Grandson, Charles Randall Peden II.

great-grandson, Caleb Mitchell Smith, and great-granddaughter, Raylynn K.R. Nugent.



Survivors include wife, Ruby Nugent of Rye, and son Donald Nugent of Dayton. Daughters, Lisa Peden and husband Charles of Rye; Melissa Gilbert and husband Keith of Thicket; Daisy Guillory and husband Phillip of Rye; Vanessa Conner and husband Joey of Dalton GA; Kristena Johnston and husband Ernie of Rye; Louise Horton of Dayton. Brothers, Jessie Nugent of Hull; Roy Nugent of Dayton; Jerry Nugent of Liberty; Johnny Nugent of Hull. Sisters, Raffey Taylor of Liberty; Virginia Gray of Liberty, Fanney Young of Baytown. Grandchildren; 24, and Great Grandchildren; 42, and a host of loving friends.
