Oscar Bennie 'Buddy' White, 88, of Thicket, died Wednesday, March 14, 2018, at his residence. He was born June 19, 1929, in Mings Chapel in Upshur County, TX to Benjamin Franklin and Ora Lee Nix White.

Buddy retired from the oilfield after spending his life working hard and taking care of his family. He was an excellent farmer and rancher and won many awards for his hay crops. He was the Fire Chief of the Votaw-Thicket VFD for several years and was very active in the community until the death of his one true love, June Rosier White. There has never been a stronger love than the love they shared.

Buddy is preceded in death by his love, June, his parents, sisters, Bobbie Ford, Ima Smith, and Christene Dooley, brothers, Barney Hollingshead and Elmer Bass, and great-grandson, Skylar Chase Thomas.

Buddy is survived by one daughter, Ruth Thomas of Thicket, grandsons, Jason Thomas and wife Donna of Orange and Chad Thomas of Thicket and his fiance' Biz Hooks of Kountze, granddaughter, Tara Graham and her husband Ricky 'Tater' of Thicket, 6 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren, and his special niece , Glenda Lee Jones and husband J.C. of Tatum, TX.

Anyone attending, at Buddy's request, will meet at Felps Cemetery at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, March 16, 2018, for a prayer and interment.
