Michelle Kay Higman, 79, of Hardin, Texas passed away on Friday, March 1, 2024, at Memorial Herman Texas Medical Center in Houston, Texas. She was born on October 27, 1944, in Seligman, Arizona to the late Elmo Edward Carr and Rose Joan Carr.
Kay enjoyed the country way of life, and everything that it had to offer. She grew up as a cowgirl and enjoyed barrel racing, rodeos, and dancing. She lived the life of a rancher and made her career as a steel worker. Kay’s family would like to thank Magnolia Place in Liberty, Texas for the wonderful love and care they provided Kay in her time of need.
Kay is preceded in death by parents; husband, W.A. Buck Higman; and son-in-law, Jeffery Lane Boze Kennedy; daughter-in-law, Tuyet White; and sister, Gloria Miller.
Kay is survived by husband, William Edmondson of Hardin, Texas; daughters, Holly Nelson of Hardin, Texas and Jackie Kennedy of Lewisville, Arkansas; step-daughters, Lynn Higman Smith and husband Mike of Louisiana and Christie Edmondson Casillas and husband Mark of Hardin; step-son, Bobby Edmondson and wife Miranda of Kilgore, Texas; son-in-law, Jerry White of Kyle, Texas; and 19 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Serving the family as pallbearers are Bob McOmber, Charles Jacobs, Johnny Nugent, Kaleb McNeely, Cody Cain, and Adrian Russell. Honorary pallbearers are Horris “Whit” Whittington, Cody Mason Cain, John “Coon Foot” Clyde Cain, Kalem Wade Thornton, Dustin Anderegg, Dalsyen Taylor, Line Camp Cowboy Church elders, and Lay Pastors.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 7, 2024, from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Line Camp Cowboy Church, Devers, Texas. Funeral Services will begin at 1:00 pm on Friday, March 8, 2024, officiated by Pastor Charles Lackey. Interment to follow at Hardin Chapel Cemetery, Hardin, Texas.
