Mettie Lee Nesbitt

Mettie Lee Nesbitt, 94, of Baytown passed away Monday, November 25, 2013. She was born on January 15, 1919 in Dayton. She was a great dancer winning many dance contest during the 40's. She was a good person, always there to help her family and neighbors. Although she had no children of her own, children loved her and loved to be around her. She was very independent and never wanted to be a burden to anyone. She was a good sister and fun person.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Clarence H. Nesbitt; siblings, O.J. Petty, Willis Petty, Wayne Petty, Vera Graham, Melba Dickerson and Verna Mae Reneau.
She is survived by her sister, Joyce Mertz of Highlands; nieces, Dea Ann Joerg of Liberty, Carolyn Smith and husband Michael of Baytown and numerous other nieces and nephews.
A graveside gathering is scheduled for Tuesday December 3, 2013 at Houston National Cemetery.
