Mary Ellen Hinze of Batson, died on Sunday, August 20, 2017, at her residence in Batson, surrounded by her family. She was 89.
A service of remembrance will be held on Thursday August 24, 2017 at 1:00P.M. at New Life Church of Batson with Reverend Lee Gruver and Reverend Bill Campbell officiating. Interment will follow at Guedry cemetery in Batson.
Serving as pallberarers are Matthew Axsom, Robert Caskey, Steve Battenfield, Larry Battenfield, Gregg Garrison and Seth Floyd.
The family will be receiving friends on Wednesday August 23, 2017 from 6:00P.M. until 8:00P.M. at New Life Church of Batson.
A native of Many, LA she had lived in Houston, many years before moving to Batson where she lived 46 years. She had worked for Ford Motor Company for 25 years as a Fleet Manager. She was a member of Batson Prairie Baptist Church for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward Cook and Exie Westbrook. Husband, Gilbert Ray Hinze, and son, Bobby Glen Taylor. Sisters, Eloise Randall, Reba Calhoun, and Mildred Arceneaux. Grandson, Craig Allen Johnson. Survivors are son, Donald Leslie Taylor of Katy, daughters, Betty Battenfield and husband Larry Carol of Batson, Susan Elaine Little and husband Jack of Dubina TX. Brothers, Roy Allen Cook and wife Mary Alice of Nacogdoches, LA and Grady Cook and wife Tressie of Nacogdoches LA. Sister, Martha Gibbs of Ohio, and grandchildren, Todd Michael Floyd and Bryan Scott Black, and great grandchild, Seth Michael Floyd.
