Mary Edda Duff, 75, a beloved homemaker passed away on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at Liberty Dayton Regional Hospital in Liberty, Texas surrounded by her loving family. Born on July 9, 1948, in Liberty, Texas to the late Hersel Howell Bagwell and Virgie May Johnson. Mary lived a remarkable life filled with love and devotion for her family and friends. Mary “Mother Hen” of her family will forever be remembered for her Christian faith as well as being an avid homemaker who took great pride and love in creating a warm and welcoming environment for her family, friends, and neighbors. She and her husband helped build and grow the foundation of South Liberty Pentecostal Church where she was a dedicated member. Mary embraced life fully and found joy in being a jokester, telling funny stories and hearing her contagious laugh throughout her home. Having a family bond has held a special place in Mary’s heart, always keeping her family together. Her dedication to serving others extended beyond the walls of the church by always praying for others, often known as a prayer warrior. After marrying the love of her life, Billy Duff, Sr. they embarked on a journey together that spanned an impressive 59 years. During this time, they built a strong foundation of love and support that served as an inspiration to all those around them. Mary will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Mary was preceded in death by her beloved parents, brothers, Clayton Bagwell and Hershel Bagwell, sisters, Gloria Hall, Paulette Goodwin, Martha Duff, and Delilah Norris. She is now joyously reunited with them in the Kingdom of Heaven. Mary Edda Duff will be dearly missed by her devoted husband, Billy Duff Sr. of Liberty, Texas; son, Billy Duff Jr., and wife Charlotte of China, Texas; daughters, JoAnn Wyant and husband Larry of Liberty, Texas and Mary Jane McQuiston and husband David of Louisiana; sisters, Phillis Dugas of Rye, Texas and Brenda Turner of Cleveland, Texas; grandchildren, Amber Brohawn, Amanda Leonard, Amie Cowl, CJ Leonard, and Danielle Guia; 10 great grandchildren, and many loving relatives and a host of friends. A visitation in honor of Mary’s life will be held on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Faith and Family Funeral Services in Batson, Texas. The funeral service celebrating Mary’s life will take place at 12:00 PM Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at Faith and Family Funeral Services in Batson, Texas with Pastor Larry Wyant officiating. Following the funeral service, interment will follow at Palms Cemetery in Dayton, Texas. Serving as pallbearers include CJ Leonard, Joel Guia, Billy Duff Jr., Ronald Duff, Joey McGinnis, Toby McGinnis Jr., David McQuiston and Charles Cherry. Honorary pallbearer is Oliver Brohawn.
