Daisetta

Marlene Shane, born on January 25, 1957, in Dallas, Texas, departed from this world on April 5, 2025, in Daisetta, Texas. She was a venerable soul whose unwavering faith and loving spirit touched the lives of many.

A cherished member of the Line Camp Cowboy Church in Devers, Texas, Marlene remained faithful to the Lord throughout her life, embodying the virtues of love and kindness. Her unique ability to love everyone in her own special way carved a lasting impact on those fortunate enough to have known her. Marlene had a radiant spirit that brought joy to every gathering, where her engaging presence was paired with a passion for life’s simple pleasures—whether it be the thrill of bingo, the discovery at flea markets, or the excitement of garage sales.

While Marlene's heart was expansive enough to embrace all, her love particularly shone brightly for her family. She was blessed with two children, Tracy Barefield and her partner Carrie Brumley, along with Stacy Shane Thompson. She took immense pride in her role as a grandmother, particularly adoring her grandson, Corey Touchet, and extending her affection to her other grandchildren—Chelsea Touchet and Kylee Frischenmeyer. Family was paramount to Marlene; she delighted in nurturing these precious relationships that enriched her life immeasurably.

Marlene was not only a devoted mother and grandmother but also a loving sister. She is survived by her siblings: Glenda Gober (Bob) of Carthage, Texas; Michial Holeman (Virginia) of Pensacola, Florida; Richard Holeman of Waterloo, New York; Terry Adams of Texarkana, Texas; and Darlene Anderson of Seminary, Mississippi. Her enduring legacy continues through brother and sister-in-law Jim and Emma Shane of Liberty, Texas, and sister-in-law Shirley Caudell from Shepherd, Texas. Additionally, her life was brightened by her bonus daughter Colleen Volan of Katy, Texas, and bonus granddaughter Caitlynn Tenney of Baytown, Texas.

Marlene was preceded in death by her father, Garnett Lee Caudell Jr., and her mother, Viola Lee Emmons Caudell. She now rejoins her husband, William G. Shane, and her siblings, Gary Caudell and Janet Bryant, all of whom she dearly missed.

In honor of her remarkable life, visitation will be held on April 10, 2025, at Line Camp Cowboy Church in Devers, Texas, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a funeral service from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. The day will culminate with interment at Hardin Chapel Cemetery in Hardin, Texas, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
