Marian Ellyn Hendrix Sutton, 87, of Saratoga, Texas, passed away on Thursday, April 25, 2024. She was born on August 4, 1936, in Saratoga, Texas, to the late Herman Marsh and Mable Hendrix. Marian is preceded in death by her parents; her husband William Eugene “Bill” Sutton; son William Eugene “Jug” Sutton Jr.; and daughter Lisa Gail Sutton. She is survived by her only grandson Shane Michael Shrader. Marian was a lifelong resident of Saratoga that was very well known as the “cake lady.” She baked everyone’s birthday, wedding, and shower cakes. Her family will always remember the fond memory of the “icing worm” that they will cherish forever. In her spare time, she loved sewing baby quilts, fishing in her pond, and family gatherings, even when it was a spur of the moment. Her door was always open for friends and family no matter the time of day it was. She was a truly kind and generous person that could always be used as a historian about Saratoga, Batson, and all of Hardin County. Serving the family as pallbearers are Aurthur Riley, Lawrence Blanchard, Brad Williams, Blake Williams, Morgan Blanchard, and Harley Stubblefield. Honorary pallbearers are Herbert “Hub” Sutton, and Jerry Paul Riley. Visitation will be from
10:00 am to 2:00 pm on Monday, May 6, 2024, at Faith and Family Funeral Services, Batson, Texas. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 pm on Monday, May 6, 2024, officiated by Pastors Nathan Hendrix and Margie Riley at Faith and Family Funeral Services, Batson, Texas. Interment to follow at Felps Cemetery, Thicket, Texas.
