Margaret Louise Hester

Margaret Louise Hester, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, left us on February 23, 2025, at the age of 81. Margaret was born on August 2, 1943, to Reece and Elber Lee. She grew up in a loving family, where she developed a passion for cooking, which she shared with her family and friends throughout her life. She was known for her Southern cooking, always eager to feed those she loved with warmth and care.

A hardworking and dedicated woman, Margaret worked for more than 20 years at HEB Grocery Company, where she was a valued member of the team. Before that, she worked at Minimax in Liberty, Texas, for over 10 years. Her commitment and work ethic were truly admirable, and she made lasting contributions to her community and coworkers.

Margaret is survived by her three children and their spouses, Michael Hester and wife, Jessica, Wesley Hester and wife, Reneé, and Rebecca Booth and husband, Chris. She took great joy in her role as a mother and later as a grandmother and great-grandmother, cherishing every moment spent with her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her family meant the world to her, and her love for them was unconditional.

Margaret is also survived by three of her siblings, Lacy Lee, Joycelyn Hart and Margie Dowers; five grandchildren, Raysha, Patricia, Kortne, Alex and Miles; and numerous great-grandchildren, all of whom will miss her dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents and two of her siblings, Robert Lee and Eugene Foteno.

Margaret loved being outdoors, particularly enjoying time spent raking in the yard, where she found peace and contentment. She had a kind soul and an incredible love for her family. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.

The funeral service will be held at Faith and Family Funeral Services in Batson, Texas. Visitation will take place from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm on February 27, 2025, with the funeral service following immediately thereafter officiated by Pastor William Seaman. Burial will take place at Guedry Cemetery in Batson, Texas, following the service. Pallbearers will be Robert Lee, Aaron Lee, Jimmy Finn, Roger Dowers, Landon Grimes and Mark Welschhans. Honorary Pallbearers are Roy Lee, Luka Hester, and Caleb Jerry.

Though Margaret is no longer with us, her spirit, love and work ethic will be remembered by all who were lucky enough to know her.
