Brooks Williams, 87, of Liberty, passed away on Tuesday, December 25, 2018, at Liberty Dayton Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Wiliams was born July 20, 1931, in Weston, West Virginia, to the late Henry Lee Williams and Virsie Henline Williams. After graduating from high school, he joined the United States Air Force and proudly served his country while based in the South Pacific and Washington, D.C. While in D.C., he married Helen Joann Means, whom he had known since the first grade.
He was an incredible mechanic for many years, starting at a young age working on his and his friends' cars. He went on to become a top salesman for Peterbilt and Ford Trucks, after moving the family to Houston in 1963. After retiring to South Padre Island in 1996, he spent most of his free time fishing and playing golf.
Mr. Williams is preceded in death by his parents; brother Clifford Williams; and sisters Maxine Carper and Loretta Harbert.
Those left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 68 years, Helen Means Williams of Liberty; daughters, Beth Fedigan and husband Paul of South Padre Island, Texas, Jane Kirkpatrick of Richmond, Texas, and Cathy Hazelwood of Missouri City, Texas. He also leaves behind 7 grandchildren, Brooks Gillis and wife Madison of Missouri City, Texas, Michael Gillis of Richmond, Texas, Chelsea Fedigan of South Padre Island, Texas, John-Paul Fedigan of Austin, Texas, Melissa Raynor and husband Aaron of West Columbia, Texas, Megan Kaufman and husband Michael of Scottsdale, Arizona, and Michelle West and husband Stephen of College Station, Texas. In addition, he leaves behind 5 great-grandchildren and a host of friends across the United States.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday January 5, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. at North Main Baptist Church of Liberty with Reverend Dick Lintelman officiating.
