Kenneth Richard Bird, 69, of Hull passed away Friday, July 19, 2019, at his residence. He was born November 29, 1949, in Nacogdoches, TX to the late William Richard Bird and Gussie Mae Connell Bird. He grew up in Liberty and attended school at Liberty ISD until he had the chance to move and live in Alaska for over 25 years as an adult, then decided to move back to Hull. He worked as an electrician for over 45 years and loved to hunt, fish, and talk to everyone he came in contact with.
Kenneth proudly served our country as part of the United States Navy for 4 years on the USS Hancock and USS Hector. He loved life so much and was always active and helping anyone that needed him. He really enjoyed helping others. Kenneth loved the Lord, his church, Riding With Christ in Raywood, and his church family. He looked forward to the days when he could go out and ride his horse, Tank, whether it was in a parade, at the church play days, or for the Sheriff's Posse.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Those left to cherish his memory is his wife of 25 years, Jan Bird of Hull; son, Doug Bird and wife Debbie of Jackson, OH; daughters, Michele Fontenot and husband Lloyd of Raywood, Andrea Coronis of Daisetta; brother, John Edward Bird of Shreveport, LA; sister, Pamela Jane Reese and husband Bob of Corpus Christi, TX; 11 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, 2 nieces, 1 nephew, and a host of loving friends; son, Fred Bird, and daughter; Serena Miller.
A service of remembrance will be Wednesday, July 24, 2019, at 10:00 a.m. at Faith & Family Funeral Services with Reverend Phil and wife Tammy Baragas and Reverend Michael Cotten officiating, interment will follow at Guedry Cemetery. A gathering of Kenneth's family and friends will be Tuesday, July 23, 2019, from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. also at Faith & Family Funeral Services.
Honoring Kenneth as pallbearers will be Robert Tinney, Eric Moore, Danny Miller, Johnny Johnson, Lloyd Fontenot, and P.J. Fontenot. Honorary pallbearers will be Charlie Gill, Buddy Robla, Blue Deckert, and Allen Griffin.
