Judy Diane Taylor

March 11, 1957 — August 21, 2024

Kountze

Judy Diane Taylor was born on March 11, 1957 in Corpus Christi, Texas. She passed away at Baptist Hospital on August 21, 2024. Judy was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, mentor, friend, confidant and companion of her family and friends.

Family and friends reflect on Judy’s love of an independent life, refusing to conform to others’ expectations and living a life uniquely her own. Throughout her life, she embodied the values she taught to others: those of self-reliance, independence, and the determination to finish what she started. Judy prided herself on her love of family. She gave generously and indiscriminately, always willing to lend a hand without the expectation of repayment. Through her example, she left a legacy of generosity and goodwill to others. She continues to bless others as an organ donor. Her family’s fondest memories revolve around memorable play days in the arena. Aunt Judy was always down for a fun (and sometimes dangerous) time. She loved silly time with the kids and the occasional “jump” scare, but was always ready with a listening ear and a quick laugh. She always made sure the cousins were “fed well” when we stayed with her. Judy proudly worked as an overhead crane operator in the steel mill. During her free time not spent with family and friends, she dedicated time to rescuing and caring for various creatures that would find their way into her care. Her devotion to her fur babies was only second to family and friends. On her “Round to it Ranch”, Judy kept busy with projects that she eventually “got around to”.

Judy is preceded in death by her father Jimmy Taylor and brother-in-law Donnie Lyons. Judy is survived by her mother Peggy Ivy of Hardin, TX; siblings: Steve Taylor and wife, Kathy, of Hardin, Beth Lyons of Hardin, Sandy Allen and husband, Ray, of Devers; her nieces and nephews: Lori Fondon and husband, John, of Kingsburg, California, Kerry Overton and husband Scott of Winnie, Texas, Megan Traylor of Hardin, TX, Kelsey Kapalski and Brett Robinson of Hardin, TX, Katy Taylor of Hardin, TX, Cody Taylor and Ashley Jackson of Hardin, TX, and Shane Lyons and wife, Brooke, of Alvin, TX.
