Johnny Lee Bennett, 83, of Moss Hill, went to be with the Lord Monday September 30, 2013 in Georgetown, TX. A native of Crockett, TX, he had lived in Moss Hill 44 years. Johnny was a self-employed truck driver, farmer and a big-hearted family man. He was a God-Fearing man and a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Marysee, TX.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Eddie Lee Bennett and Paumillia Elizabeth Bennett; wife, Allene Helen Bennett; son, Johnny Lee Bennett, Jr., daughter, Kellie Bennett; sisters, Eltha Pillkington, Marie Benten; nephew, Eddie Ray Pillkington.
He is survived by his daughters Mona Lisa Bennett of Hardin, Hellon Bennett of Batson and Linda Ratzlaff of Round Rock, TX; 14 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church of Marysee on Thursday October 3, 2013 from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. A service of remembrance is scheduled for Thursday October 3, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church of Marysee, officiated by Reverend Carlton Bailey. Internment will follow at Moss Hill Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Eric Bennett, Robert Whiddon, Cory Ratzlaff, Jonathan Ratzlaff, Lalo Triston and Jim VanDorn. Honorary palllbearers are Jimmy Goff and Tom White.
The family would like to thank the staffs of Estrella Oaks Nursing Home in Georgetown, TX and Odyssey Hospice.
