Joey Caruthers

55, of Saratoga, Texas died Saturday January 25, 2014 at his residence. A service of remembrance will be held on Monday January 27, 2014 at 10:00A.M. at Calvary Tabernacle Church in Batson, with Reverend Tolbert Hudspeth officiating. Interment will follow at the Guedry Cemetery in Batson. The family will be receiving friends on Sunday January 26, 2014 from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. also at Calvary Tabernacle Church in Batson. Joey was born June 6, 1958 in Beaumont, Texas to James Weldon 'Jim' Caruthers and Elma Vivian Jackson. He was preceded in death by his mother Vivian Caruthers, sister; Elma LaVonne 'Cat' Caruthers and grandparents. Survivors are his father; James Weldon 'Jim' Caruthers of Saratoga, brother; Jimmy Caruthers and wife Flo of Votaw, nieces; Donna Whittington and husband Bobby of Votaw, and Amy Hughes and husband Scotty of Thicket. Great nieces; four and great nephews; four and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and loving friends. Serving as pallbearers are Ross Jordan, Tim Moody, Jimmy Anderson, George Lewis, Jake Caruthers, Trey Whittington , Jay Weldon Hughes, and Bobby Whittington. Honorary pallbearer is Scotty Hughes.
