Joe Bailey Overstreet

96, of Kountze, Texas, died on Sunday March, 29, 2015 at Harbor Hospice of Beaumont, Texas. He was born June 17, 1918 to Arthur D.Overstreet and Viva Youngblood in Hicksbaugh, Texas. Joe was a WWII U.S. Army veteran and a retired truck driver for Overstreet Butane for a number of years. He was preceded in death by his parents, and wife Lois McCauley Overstreet, and two sisters and five brothers. He is survived by his sons, Geary Overstreet and wife Dorothy of Kountze, and Joe David Overstreet of Kountze. Two grandsons, Sonny Overstreet and wife Laurie, of Kountze, and David Overstreet and wife Shannon of Kountze. Great grandchildren are Karli, Bailey, Daniel, Miley, and Matti Overstreet all of Kountze, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was a devoted husband and father and Poppa to his family. A man of God and of honor, he will be missed by many. The family would like to thank the staff at Harbor Hospice and the Kountze Nursing Home for their care for Joe. A masonic graveside service will be held on Wednesday April, 1, 2015 at 10:00A.M. at Holland cemetery in Kountze.
