Jo Carolyn Benoit, 73, of Batson, passed away Monday, March 25, 2019, at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont.

Mrs. Benoit was born September 1, 1945, in Newton, TX to Joe and Kathryn Starkes Carlisle. She worked many years in the cafeteria of the Liberty County area schools and retired from Hull-Daisetta ISD. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them, but she could always be found relaxing in her chair embroidering or sewing.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her in-laws, Murphy & Ethel Benoit; brother, Douglas Carlisle; and granddaughter, Ashley Benoit.

Those left to cherish her memory are husband, Terrell Benoit of Batson; sons, Chuck Benoit and wife Claudia of Hardin; daughter, Terri Fregia and husband Bubba of Batson; grandchildren, Derrick Tanner of Hardin, Shayla Harwell and husband Thomas of Hardin, Amber Benoit and husband Joey of Daisetta, and Christopher Fregia and wife Shelby of Batson; great-grandchildren, Axyl, Trystan, Destynee, Braiden, Olivia, Joseph, Cooper, and Savannah; special friends, Julia Powell and Glenda Watson; and a host of loving friends and extended family.

A service of remembrance will be Friday, March 29, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. at New Life Church in Batson with Reverend Bill Campbell officiating, interment will follow at Guedry Cemetery. A gathering of Mrs. Benoit's family and friends will be Thursday, March 28, 2019, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. also at New Life Church.

Honoring Mrs. Benoit as pallbearers are Johnny Carter, Derrick Tanner, Perry Powell, Joseph Whidden, Christopher Fregia, and Thomas Harwell. Honorary pallbearers will be Chuck Benoit, Alan Gartner, and Bryan Fregia.
