James Harold " Paw Paw" Chambless

James Harold ' Paw Paw' Chambless, 62, of Votaw, died Monday, July 24, 2017, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

A service of remembrance will be held on Thursday, July 27, 2017, at 2:00 P.M. at First Baptist Church of Saratoga, with Reverend Frank Aragon officiating. Interment will follow at Menard Chapel Cemetery in Livingston, in Polk County.

Serving as pallbearers are Michael Damon, Sidney Taylor, Thomas Caruther, Jassen Reed, Matt Warzon, and Ernie Hazelwood. Honorary pallbearers are Richard McGee and James Long.

The family will be receiving friends on Wednesday, July 26, 2017, from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at First Baptist Church of Saratoga.

James was born July 9, 1955, in Cleveland, to William McKinley Chambless and Minnie Richardson. He had lived in Votaw all his life and was a Motor Man with Unit Drilling of Humble. To those who knew James he was a gentle giant and was loved by many. He loved to hunt deer and hogs and loved being outdoors. An avid gardener he gave vegetables to his friends and family to enjoy. James was ' Just A Good Ole Boy'.

He was preceded in death by his parents and niece Brandy Kay Chambless.He survived by his wife, Emily Chambless who loved him very much. Sons, Michael Damon and wife April of Rye, Sidney Allen Taylor and wife Ashley of Rye, William Chambless of Rye, and Roy Glen Chambless of Dallas. Daughter, Sara Taylor and husband Thomas of Votaw. Brothers, Roy Jean Chambless of Votaw, William Richard Chambless of Rye, and Guary Chambless of Votaw. Sisters, Ann Wright of Votaw, Minnie Hazelwood of Votaw, and Jessie Edge of Grapeland.

Grandchildren are Rhiannon, Lauren, Bonnie, Addie, Olivia, Aiden, Kamilla, Tristan, and Avelyn.
