Isidro Hernandez Jr., a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on February 5, 2025, at the age of 83 in Daisetta, Texas. Born on January 6, 1942, in Beeville, Texas, Isidro lived a life filled with devotion, laughter, and a deep love for his family.
Isidro was a proud veteran of the US Army. His commitment to service exemplified his love for God and country, which resonated deeply in the values he instilled in those around him. From a young age, Isidro demonstrated a remarkable work ethic. He started working in the oilfield industry at the tender age of ten, a testament to his innate determination and tenacity. He dedicated his career to this field until his retirement in 2018, compelled to step back due to his struggle with Alzheimer's disease. Throughout his life, he remained faithful to God and shared a unique sense of humor that brought joy and laughter to those around him, especially his cherished children.
Isidro was a man of many interests, finding great joy in hunting and fishing, pursuits that allowed him to connect with nature and create lasting memories with his loved ones. His passion for music shone brightly through his love for playing guitar and singing, with songs of Johnny Cash and Willie Nelson resonating deeply within him. These hobbies illustrated not only his zest for life but also his ability to find beauty and solace in simple pleasures.
His devotion to family was paramount; Isidro treasured his wife, Connie Rose Hernandez, with whom he shared a deep and abiding love. Together they nurtured a loving home where laughter mingled with faith. He is survived by his son, James Edward Flowers, and daughter-in-law, Jennifer. In addition, Isidro leaves behind stepchildren Darryl Pugh, James Pugh and wife Sherry, Cindy Crenshaw and husband Donald, Angela Miller, and sister Catherine Hernandez who will all carry forward his legacy of love and joy.
The family tree extends beautifully with 13 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren, each of whom were enriched by the warmth of Isidro's presence. His wife, Connie Hernandez, will hold his memory close to her heart as she navigates life without him.
Isidro was preceded in death by his parents, Ecedro Hernandez Sr. and Refugia Flores, but their influence and guidance would remain ingrained in his character. He is also welcomed in eternal rest by his daughter, Mary Jane Hernandez, and siblings Felipe Hernandez, Wedo Hernandez, Gracie Hernandez, and Josie Cardenas, who preceded him in passing.
As we reflect on Isidro's life, we remember a man whose spirit was indomitable, whose laughter was infectious, and whose heart was filled with love for his family. His legacy will undoubtedly live on in the stories shared, the lessons taught, and the unconditional love that he imparted. Rest in peace, dear Isidro. You will be profoundly missed, but forever remembered in the hearts of those you loved.
