Ida Louise Wood, 87, of Hardin passed away on Tuesday November 23, 2021, at Liberty Health Care Center. A graveside service will be held on Saturday December 4, 2021, at 1:30 pm at Hardin Chapel Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends on Saturday December 4, 2021, from 9am until 11am at Faith & Family Chapel.
Ida was born on September 6, 1934, to Bob and Myrtle Shelton in Daviess County Kentucky. She was one of seven sisters born in a Christian farming family in northwestern Kentucky.
Her family was very active in the church and her favorite bible verse was Romans 8:28 – “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose”.
Ida married Follis wood on June 21, 1951 and had three children (Cindy, Andy, and Mark). Ida and her family moved to Hardin in 1969 and she lived there until her death.
Ida is preceded in death by her parents Bob and Myrtle Shelton, husband Follis Wood, son Andy Wood, sisters Betty Collins, Ann Leishman, Jean Baker, Ruby Baird, Christine Clark, and Martha Harpe.
Survivors include daughter Cindy Wood of Hardin, Son Mark Wood and wife Marie of San Antonio, Daughter-in-law Debi Wood of Dayton, Grandchildren Brian Wood of Dayton, Brandon Wood of Dayton, Ryan Wood of Frederick, CO, and Austin Wood of Front Royal, VA.
Great Grandchildren are Andrew Wood, Marcus Wood, Kelsey Wood, Landon Wood, Sierra Wood, Logan Wood, Ava Wood, and Lincoln Wood.
