Helen Vurlene Pumphrey

Helen Vurlene Pumphrey, 79, of Batson, died on April 23, 2018, at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont surrounded by her loving family.

A native of Quilan, Texas she had lived in Batson since 1996 and was a waitress. She was preceded in death by her husband Duane Pumphrey her parents Lawrence Thomas Surginer and Lera Louise Skaggs. Sons, Ronnie Preston and Howard Preston, brother, Acie Surginer, sister-in- law, Pauline Surginer and grandson, Steve Presley.

Survivors are son, Scott Pumphrey and wife Crystal of Batson, daughter, Dianne Teschendorf and husband Robert of Batson. Brothers, E.L. Surginer of Sinton, TX David Surginer of Sinton, TX Lawrence Surginer and wife Barbara of Firebluff TX and sister, Pat Coleman of Sinton, TX.

Grandchildren are Brian & Melissa Teschendorf, Tiffany & Leland Ray, Crystal & Cody Swor, Ronnie & Stephanie Preston, Donnie & Melanie Preston, Danielle Preston, Torrie Gaskey, Jacoby Pumprey and Michelle Pumphrey. Great grandchildren, Tara & Caleb Nance, Dillan Ray, C.B. Teschendorf, Casten Teschendorf, Alexa Teschendorf, Cheleby Pilgreen, Carli Swor, Cody Swor, Dreylynn Preston, Jayse Fregia, Caylee Fregia, and Justin Preston.
