Genevieve Lenora Jackson was born June 11th, 1952, in Livingston, Tx. She peacefully transitioned to her eternal heavenly home on December 10th, 2024, at the age of 72. Genevieve is preceded in death by her grandparents J. Weldon Bailey and wife Jennie, her mother Billie S. Vezina, and her loving husband Richard Enoch Jackson. She is survived by her sons, Glenn Jackson, Matt Jackson and wife Jamie, Jeff Jackson and wife Donyelle, brother-in-law Carl Dean Jackson and sister-in-law Patsy Jackson, grandchildren Chelsea, Hannah, Derrick, Peyton and Garret Jackson, great-granddaughter Audrey Cheatham, and countless other friends and loved ones.
Genevieve was a kind-hearted, caring, honest woman with a beautiful spirit. She could make anyone around her feel special and loved just by her presence and her laugh. Genevieve was a devoted wife to Richard, her husband of 49 years. She was a loving, attentive mother and “Mawmaw” to her sons and grandchildren. She was a competitive pokeno player and played at least once every month for many, MANY years. She loved shopping, playing board games and cards, watching her grandchildren play sports, and spending time with her family and friends. Everyone was her “favorite” something: “favorite oldest”, “favorite middle”, “favorite youngest”, whatever you were to her, you were her favorite. She was such an appreciative gift receiver and would light up just because you thought of her. She was also an amazing gift giver, although if you asked her “Mawmaw what did you get me for Christmas?” in the right way, she would accidentally tell you EVERYTHING. She was a huge supporter of her family and friends in every way. Whether it was birthdays, sports, holidays, school events, or any other important occasion, she would be there to cheer you on and show up for you.
Genevieve lived a very wholesome, fulfilling life. She was a talker, and could talk to you for hours about whatever was on your mind or heart. She would not leave anyone without at least one hug and 5 separate goodbyes. She was loved by every and anyone who got the opportunity to know her or spent just 5 minutes with her. She will be deeply missed in her absence on earth, but remembered as one of the sweetest women who ever walked it.
Honoring Genevieve as pallbearers are Glenn Jackson, Matt Jackson, Jeff Jackson, Derrick Jackson, Peyton Jackson and Garret Jackson.
