Ethel Mae Cooke, 89, of Hull, passed away Monday, August 19, 2019, at Magnolia Place Health Care in Liberty. She was born February 2, 1930, in Sour Lake, TX to the late Floyd Whitmire and Doris Fregia. In earlier year, Ethel enjoyed going shopping, preparing good home cook meals, and gardening. A faithful servant, family was very important to her, and she enjoyed their company when they visited. She was known for putting together scrapbooks of her family life and in her leisure time, you could find her working on crossword puzzles. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert E. Cooke; brothers, Samuel Whitmire, James Taylor, and Richard Taylor; sisters, Nana Young, and Emma Taylor; and great-grandsons, Chance Taylor, and Chet Smoke.
Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Ramey R. Taylor and wife Peggy J of Hull; grandsons, Cecil Taylor of Hardin, Waylon Taylor of Batson, Robert J. Taylor of Batson, and Steven Taylor and wife Niki of Batson; granddaughter, Peggy Allen of Houston; great-grandsons, Trad Taylor and wife Megan of Liberty, Chayse Taylor and fiance Joely of Huffman, Dalton Smoke and wife Chelsea of Hardin, Cameron Taylor of Houston, and Haydyn Taylor of Batson; great-granddaughter, Kali Taylor of Houston; 3 great-great-grandsons; 2 great-great-granddaughters; brother-in-law, Rev. Nolan Taylor of Raywood; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of loving friends.
A service of remembrance will be Friday, August 23, 2019, at 10:00 a.m. at Faith & Family Funeral Services, Inc. with Reverend Gideon Watson, and Rev. Nolan Taylor officiating, interment will follow at Oakdale Cemetery in Daisetta. A gathering of Ethel's family and friends will be Thursday, August 22, 2019, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. also at Faith & Family Funeral Services, Inc.
Honoring Ethel as pallbearers are Cecil Taylor, Waylon Taylor, Robert J. Taylor, Trad Taylor, Chayse Taylor, and Dalton Smoke. Honorary pallbearers are Steven Taylor, Ricky Fregia and Cameron Taylor.
