Elizabeth Ann Taylor, a cherished mother, grandmother, and friend, departed this world on November 7, 2024, at the age of 77 in Beaumont, Texas at Harbor Hospice surrounded by her loving family and friends. Born on March 29, 1947, in the quaint town of Jonesboro, Louisiana, she spent most of her life in Lumberton Texas, before making a recent move to Sour Lake. Mrs. Taylor graduated from South Park High in Beaumont, Texas.
Mrs. Taylor worked in the office at Huber’s Decorating Center for years. She later started selling Insurance for Magnolia Life Insurance.
Known fondly for her culinary masterpiece, her German Chocolate Cake became a beloved staple in gatherings and celebrations among her family and friends. Elizabeth's kitchen was a sanctuary where love was baked into every morsel, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts and palates of all who indulged.
Elizabeth’s personality radiated warmth and compassion; she was the epitome of a loving and caring soul. Always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need, she was the embodiment of selflessness, making her community a better place just by being herself. Her fierce love for her children and grandchildren was evident to all who knew her, as she took immense joy in their achievements and milestones, standing proudly beside them in life’s many festivities.
Outside of her devotion to family, Elizabeth had a passion for horses, dogs, cats, and all farm animals that shaped many of her happiest memories. She relished time spent horseback riding and cherished the excitement of horse races. Her fur baby, "Precious," held a special place in her heart, further showcasing her loving nature towards all creatures. She never met a stranger and will be remembered for her red hair, big beautiful smile and her beautiful blue eyes.
Elizabeth is preceded in death by her parents, Edward Thompson, and Vivian Elvira Shows; stepdaughters, Terri Moulder, and Susan Rice; brothers, Royce Thompson, and Patrick Thompson.
She is survived by her children, David Walters and wife Sheila, Tammy Walters Meaux; stepchildren, Randy Brown and Traci Taylor; sisters, Carolyn Bussey and husband Harold, Marie Prejean, and Sheila Thompson; grandchildren, Dylan Meaux, Bradley Meaux and wife Lindsee, Beverly Harris, Brien Walters and wife Jessica, Luke Walters and wife Carley, Tosheia Rapp and fiancé Bobby, Kayla Taylor and husband Seth, Bo Rice and wife Casey and Kellie Hardy and husband Karl; 22 great grandchildren; and 6 great great grandchildren; numerous nieces nephews and friends. The family would like to thank Harbor Hospice, Mary Jeannotte, Melissa and Burtis Cartwright, Tanda Lutz and Randy Brown for the love and support during her illness and passing.
Serving as pallbearers are Bill Walters, Bradley Meaux, Layne Shelton, Brien Walters, Luke Walters, and Burtis Cartwright. Honorary pallbearer is Dylan Meaux.
As we gather to celebrate a well-lived life, we invite family and friends to join us for a visitation on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Faith & Family Funeral Services, 40847 HWY 105 E., Batson, Texas. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at 1:00 PM, at Faith & Family Funeral Services. Interment to follow at Pine Ridge Cemetery, Sour Lake, Texas.
