Eddie Arnold Taylor

of Daisetta, TX, died Monday August 11, 2015 at his residence. He was 71 years of age.

A service of remembrance will be held on Saturday August 15 at 2:00 P.M. at First Baptist Church of Daisetta, with Reverend Shawn Vickers officiating. Interment will follow at Guedry Cemetery in Batson.

The family will be receiving friends on Friday August 14, 2015 also at First Baptist Church of Daisetta, starting at 5:00 P.M.

Eddie was born on August 20, 1963 in Daisetta, and was a lifetime resident. He was a graduate of Hull - Daisetta High School and served on the school board for 15 years. He was the Mayhaw Festival president, citizen of the year, 4-H and FFA leader, and a volunteer at the TVE for 40 years serving on the Calf Scramble Committee, Barn superintendent, and Livestock Show president.

Eddie was a member of First Baptist Church of Daisetta, and was the owner of Taylor Welding Service established in 1971. Eddie is survived by his High School sweetheart and his one and only love, Shirley. They celebrated 52 years of marriage on Sunday August 9, 2015.

Eddie and Shirley were blessed with two children, the late Eddie Duane and Elicia Marberry and husband Fred of Daisetta. Eddie has 3 grandchildren, Chad and Chisholm Marberry, and Heather Roberts and husband Cody of Daisetta.

He had 3 great grandchildren, Thomas and Lydia Marberry and Brayden Roberts. Eddie loved his grandbabies and each one had their own name for him: PawPaw, Poppa, Grandpa, Pop Pop, Poppy, and Apaw. He is survived by a sister, Mary Sellers and husband Jerry of Houston and by a special family friend, Tony Allwright. He had 5 nephews and 5 nieces.

Serving as pallbearers are Buck Carl, Jimmy Douglas, Terry Wilson, Granville Taylor, Kevin Brown, and Travis Williamson.

Honorary pallbearers are Denman Watson, Jimmy Cossey, Mike Shannon, Fred Marberry, Chad Marberry, Chisolm Marberry, Cody Roberts, Heather Roberts, Helen Gilbreath, Mary Jo Hanel, and Tony Allwright.
