Earl Gene Zwahr, 74, of Thicket, died on Tuesday, September 19, 2017, at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. He was born March 10, 1943, in Crosby, TX to Rinehardt A. and Rosie Weckworth Zwahr and was a lifelong resident of Thicket.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brother Delano Zwahr.
Those left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 56 years, Margaret Zwahr, sons; Stephen Earl Zwahr and wife Charlene of Thicket and Richard Gene Zwahr and wife Dorothy of Votaw, daughters; Regina Marlane Zwahr of Dayton and Leslie Diane Martin and husband Floyd of Thicket, brothers; Rinehardt Zwahr of Huffman and Kenny Zwahr of Dayton, grandchildren; Grant Love, Amanda Henry, Christopher Zwahr, Tyler Copeland, Maribeth Zwahr, Madison Zwahr, and Molly Zwahr, and great-grandchildren; Samuel Robinson, Emma Love, Seth Love, Hegan Love, Kaden Robinson, and Dallas Robinson.
A gathering of Mr. Zwahr's family and friends will be Friday, September 22, 2017, from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church Saratoga.
A service of remembrance will be held Saturday, September 23, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. also at First Baptist Church Saratoga
Honoring Mr. Zwahr as pallbearers are Tyler Copeland, Grant Love, Christopher Zwahr, Floyd Martin, Aaron Zwahr, and Jason Hanna, honorary pallbearers are Kenny Zwahr, Rinehardt Zwahr, and Deanie Jackson.
