Doris Dorothy Harrison, 89, of Votaw, passed away Tuesday April 3, 2012. She was a member of Votaw Worship Center. She lived in the Big Thicket Area for most of her lifeDoris Dorothy Harrison, 89, of Votaw, TX, passed away Tuesday April 3, 2012. She was born in Waco, TX, and preceded in death by her parents, Harley and Gladys Warren. Also preceded by her husband, Ross S. Harrison; brothers, Harley 'Bud' Warren and Weldon Warren, and sister, Helen Warren McLaughlin. Recently departed was her youngest great great grandson, Bryan Lee Longan, 4 months.
She lived in the Big Thicket Area for over 35 years. She enjoyed sewing and had a passion for gardening, studying herbs and nutrition. She was fourth generation Baptist. Her ancestors established the first Baptist Church in Coryell County, Texas. She loved her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She was a member of Votaw Worship Center.
She is survived by her brother Robert Warren and wife Eddy Jean, her children, Carol Corbett Ellis, of Tulsa, OK, Anita Diane Corbett Strack of Redonda Beach, CA, William 'Bill' Corbett and wife Mary, of Washington, and Patricia Ann Corbett Misczuk and husband Bill of Pasco, Washington; 6 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren. And many nieces and nephews, cousins and 'adopted' grandchildren.
In honor of her wishes, she will be cremated, with a memorial service to be held at a later date where she will be laid to rest in Waco, TX near her parents.
