Dean Shannon

Dean Shannon, 82, of Hardin, died Thursday, March 29, 2018, at Liberty-Dayton Regional Medical Center. He was born August 6, 1935, in Austin, TX to James Arthur and Sadie Wallace Shannon. Mr. Shannon had lived in Hardin the last 20 years and retired from Pro-Quip where he did construction.

He is preceded in death by his parents, son, Michael Dennis Shannon, daughter, Carol Sue Kirby Buchanan, brothers, Glen Engelke, Gene Shannon, and Jerry Shannon, sisters, Sherry McKamie, Loma Woodworth, and Winnie Turner.

Those left to cherish his memory are; wife of 64 years, JoAnn Shannon, sons, Douglas Kirby Jr. and wife Debbie of Kerrville, TX, and Sam Dean Shannon and wife Lynda of Hardin, daughters, Janice Elaine Kirby Kupec and husband Walter of Round Rock, TX, and Debra Ann Shannon Manchaca and husband John of Hardin, brothers, James 'Sparky' Engelke of Sweeny, TX, Leon Simpson and wife Lynda of Dumas, TX, and Steve Shannon of Virginia, sister, Linda Hagstrom and husband Carl of Round Rock, TX, 13 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, a close family friend, Jane Kirby, and a host of loving friends.

A service of remembrance will be held Friday, April 6, 2018, at 3:00 p.m. at Faith & Family Funeral Services with Reverend Kari Perkins officiating, with cremation to follow. A gathering of Mr. Shannon's family and friends will also be held on Friday, April 6, 2018, from 1:00 p.m. till 3:00 p.m. at Faith & Family Funeral Services.
