David Harwell Chessher

David Chessher, 79, of Honey Island, died Tuesday, April 5, 2017, at his residence surrounded by his family and many of his caring friends.

A service of remembrance will be held on Saturday April 8,2017 at 2:00 P.M. at Faith & Family Funeral Services with Reverend Tolbert Hudspeth officiating. Interment will follow at Jordan cemetery in Honey Island. The family will be receiving friends on Friday April 7, 2017 from 5:00P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Faith & Family.

Serving as pallbearers are Timothy Hutson, Ed Gilbert, Bryan Chessher, Corey Chessher, Larry McCollough, and Lee Charles Jordan Jr. Honorary pallbearers are Charles Earl, Clayton, Rusty, Evan, Tony, Jacob, Ernest, Robert, Brad, Brennan, Jacob, Kutter, Cameron, Trace, Bo, Buddy, Bryan, Barney Gandy, and J.W. Waters.

David had lived in Honey Island, 34 years and was a Oilfield Consultant. He loved being outdoors, hunting, and just being around his many good friends having a good time.

He was preceded in death by his parents, T.J Chessher and Lenora Edwards. and stepson-in-law Alfred Hutson.

Survivors are his wife, Lee Roth ' Snookie' Chessher of Honey Island; mother of his children Sissy Cummings Chessher of Saratoga. Sons, David Harwell Chessher Jr. and wife Susie of Hardin, Granderson Wayne Chessher and wife Ginger of Hardin, and Thomas Glenn Chessher and wife Crystal of Saratoga. Stepson, Lee Charles Jordan and wife Elizabeth of Honey Island. Stepdaughters, Nora Faye Hutson of Honey Island, and Donna Cassidy and husband Darrin of China. Brother, John Hugh Chessher and wife Bertha of Saratoga. Grandchildren: 19 and great grandchildren: 35.
