Connie Louise Dougharty, 82, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at Oakwood Nursing Home Vidor, TX. Mrs. Dougharty was born on March 23, 1940 to the late Wilson Connie Turnage and Opal Louise Morgan Turnage. She had lived in Mauriceville many years before moving to Vidor. She was a pastor's wife and homemaker.
Connie is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Reverend Allie Ray Dougharty; brothers, Robert Turnage and Charles Turnage.
Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Allen Dougharty and wife Debbie of Pitkin, LA and Alvin Dougharty and Guillermo Contreras of San Francisco, CA; sister, Kathryn McClendon from Vidor; and brother Gary Turnage of Lumberton. grandchildren, Josh Dougharty and wife Jennifer, Lee Dougharty and wife Chelsea; great- grandchildren, Leah, Slade, Landry, Huntir, Paxton, Zadie and a host of loving family and friends.
Sister Dougharty as she was affectionally known to many loved people and was always ready to tell them about her Lord and Savior. She was a praying woman who had a strong and unwavering faith. Along side her husband they pastored churches from Louisiana to Texas. After finally settling down they accepted the pastorate of The United Pentecostal Church in Mauriceville, Texas where they stayed and labored for many years until retirement. Despite Sis. Dougharty afflictions she never gave up living for God faithfully serving her many friends and never waivered in her faith.
Graveside Service will be held on Friday, December 9, 2022 at Perkins Cemetery in Dequincy, LA at 11:00 am with Reverend Woody Sonnier and Reverend Mike Phillips officiating.
