Clay Autry Tochstone, of Beaumont, TX, died peacefully at home after a lengthy illness at the age of 66. Clay was born in Beaumont, Texas to LeNelle Nichols and Earl Vernon Touchstone.
He attended Beaumont schools. After graduation, he enlisted in the Air Force where he served honorably for 7 years with the Military Police. He was discharged at the rank of Sergeant.
Clay was very competitive in all things, especially golf and chess. He excelled in darts. He was an avid reader with a passion for history. Fishing was another favorite past time. He loved all animals, especially dogs.
He is preceded in death by his parents, infant sister, stepfather Robert Gracey, Aunt Bonnie Nichols, cousins Dennis and Sharon Nichols, and sister in law Carolyn Kuhn.
He is survived by his wife of 21 years Sandra, his dog Cindy Lu, stepsons Richard R. Adams Jr. – wife Kerie and Greg I. Adams, mother in law Margaret Kuhn, brother in law Blake Kuhn, sister in law Judy Kuhn Bell – husband TS and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his half brother Bobby Lane Gracey, Uncles James Nichols, and Billy Nichols – wife Deanie, niece Laura Savoy – husband Sergio - daughter Cora, cousins Phillip Nichols and Jimmie Dale Kennedy and many lifelong friends.
In lieu of a service there will be a celebration of Clay’s life at a later date.
