Charles Henry "Charlie" Luquette

Charles Henry Luquette, 71, of Daisetta passed away Tuesday, February 26, 2019, at Liberty-Dayton Regional Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.

A service of remembrance will be held on Friday, March 1, 2019, at 2:00 P.M. at Faith & Family Chapel with Reverend Lonnie Jordan and Pastor Shannon Bowdoin officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at Guedry Cemetery in Batson. The family will be receiving friends on Thursday, February 28, 2019, from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at Faith & Family.

A native of Port Arthur, Charlie had lived in Daisetta most of his life and was retired as a correctional officer with Hightower Unit in Dayton. He was past Fire Chief with 20 years of service for Daisetta Volunteer Fire Department and was also a U.S. Army veteran.

Charlie was preceded in death by his parents Robert Hugh Luquette and Viola Green and brother Robert Luquette Jr. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years Wanda Luquette of Daisetta; son, Rodger Slusher Jr. and wife Barbara of Amarillo. Daughters, Terri Stelly and husband John of Raywood, Tonya Luquette Herman and husband Peter Ross of Daisetta. Brother, Harold Sanders Sr. of Daisetta. Special friends, Mark Jones of Liberty and Bill Mc Elhaten of Raywood and numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of loving friends. Grandchildren are Jordan Nolan, Hannah Watson and husband Derrick, Christopher Herman, Meah Herman, and Tristin Watts. Great grandchildren Halen Watson, Jaymison Dyess, and Jessa Watson.
