Anna Jean Bishop Guedry

of Batson, died on Monday December 28, 2015 at Silsbee Oaks Health Care Center. She was 95.

A celebration of her life will be held on Thursday December 31, 2015 at 2:00P.M. at Batson Prairie Baptist Church with Reverend Lee Gruver officiating. Interment will follow at Guedry cemetery in Batson.

Serving as pallbearers are John David Melear, Jeff Melear, Troy Collins, Jerisan Weaver, Jason Siros and Bob Guedry.

There will be a gathering of family and friends on Wednesday December 30, 2015 from 6:30 P.M. until 8:30 P.M. at Faith & Family.

A native of Sour Lake, she had lived in Batson, most of her life and was a homemaker. She was also a lifelong member of Batson Prairie Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband Evertt Guedry. Brothers, James Bishop, John Bishop, Earl Bishop, and sister Mary Smith.

Those left to survive her are son, Jerry Evertt Guedry and wife Patty of Batson, daughters, Ann Melear and husband Sidney of Lafayette, and Dorothy Smith of Friendswood. Sisters are June Bishop of San Marcos, and Doris Gaither of Pleasanton. TX.

Grandchildren are Christy Guedry Weaver and husband Gerald of Batson, John David Melear of Lafayette, Troy Collins of Hitchcock, William ' Jeff ' Melear and wife Mariana of Friendswood, and Suzanne McGowen and husband Henry III. of Fredericksburg. Great grandchildren 10, and great - great grandchild 1. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of loving friends who will miss her very much.
