Allen Bruce Morgan, 76, a cherished soul who brightened the lives of everyone around him, passed on Saturday, November 9, 2024, in Hardin, Texas. Born on April 23, 1948, in Rayville, Louisiana, Allen lived a life filled with joy, love, and laughter, embodying the essence of a happy person. He was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a beloved "Pops" to his grandchildren, giving them countless memories that will forever hold a place in their hearts.
Allen proudly served his country in the Navy. Following his military service, Allen embarked on a remarkable journey that would leave a lasting mark on the oilfield industry. With a mind brimming with innovative ideas and a powerful sense of determination, he focused on developing a wireline packer—a vital tool used in oil extraction processes. As the years went by, Allen's patent not only secured him a place in the oilfield world but also instilled a sense of pride in all who worked with his invention. His legacy extended beyond the patent; it was about the lives he impacted and the friendships he forged along the way.
An avid enthusiast of card games, Allen often gathered with his extended family at the Elks Lodge for lively rounds of poker, where stories were exchanged, and smiles were abundant. His passion for adventure also led him to explore the thrills of casinos and cruises, always seeking new experiences to enjoy with those he loved. In addition to the excitement of gaming and traveling, Allen cherished the tranquil moments spent at their house on the lake, where he found peace and happiness in the simple joys of life.
Allen is preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Earl Morgan, and Audrey Faye Sanford; son, Bryan Allen Morgan; brother, Raymond Morgan. He is survived by his wife of 40 plus years, Eva Morgan; children, Tracie Walters (Randyle), Michael Webb, Craig Morgan (Peggy); 7 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; siblings, Mike Morgan (Camille), Gary Morgan (Saundra), Charlie Morgan (Debbie), Dee Stoope, Beverly Carmichael (John); special sister-in-law, Lorraine Gore; numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved as his own.
A Celebration of Life will be held in honor of Allen on November 17, 2024, at the Elks Lodge in Liberty, Texas. Friends, family, and all whose lives were touched by Allen are invited to join in remembrance and celebration of a life well-lived.
While Allen may have departed from this world, his spirit will live on through the countless lives he touched. He leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and cherished memories that will continue to resonate in our hearts. As we gather to remember him, let us focus on the sunshine he brought into our lives, lifting our spirits and reminding us of the beauty of those dear to us.
